Hospital Pulls The Plug On Wrong Patient  (REAL)

Hospitals are scary places. Especially when the hospital staff is pulling the plug on the wrong patients. That's what happened to one family when a family member was taken to a hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

They say 40-year-old  Freddy Clarence Williams  died in St. Barnabas hospital in Brooklyn back in July. He was brought in after suffering a drug overdose and had his wallet in his pocket. That's when  Shirell Williams was called by the hospital staff and informed her brother was brain dead. She had not heard from her brother for weeks when she got the phone call. After going to the hospital, Shirell gave doctors permission to pull the plug on who she thought was her brother. Turns out, it wasn't.

Staff found his social security number in his wallet but mistakenly identified him as  Frederick Clarence Williamsthe brother of Shirell Powell . Only her brother was actually in jail at the time and that's why she hadn't heard from him. She got a call from the medical examiner saying that the man she gave permission to pull the plug on was in fact  not her brother . Now, she is suing the hospital for unspecified damages. Who's the actual guy whose plug got pulled? No one's saying.

Mom Donates Mug That Has $6,500 Dollars In It  (REAL)

Sometimes moms just want to get rid of stuff they think nobody is using and sometimes they're dead wrong in doing so. One mother in Atlanta is now frantically searching for a travel mug that she donated to Goodwill because unbeknownst to her... it had $6,500 of her son’s money inside .

Lindsay Preiss  recently donated her son,  Devon Silvey’s , childhood souvenir. She later learned that he had sold his car for cash and stashed the $6,500 inside. The mug is yellow with a Mickey Mouse sticker. Silvey said that he sold his car last Sunday when banks were closed. He is in the process of moving and didn’t want to leave the cash in his car. So he stashed it in the mug and put the mug in a cabinet. That's when mom sprung into action and donated the mug.

They immediately contacted the Goodwill, where workers searched surveillance footage. The mug had been priced and thrown into a bin to be put onto the shelves. They assume from there, someone purchased the mug. They're offering a monetary reward to the person who returns the mug with the cash inside. Good luck.

Airline Refunds Tickets After Turbulent Flight  (REAL)

If you've ever been on a flight that experienced some turbulence, then you'll no doubt feel for these passengers. A recent Air New Zealand flight had experienced some abnormal turbulence on a one-hour flight to the southern end of the country.

It appears that the flight ran into 111-mile crosswinds. The turbulence created by these winds lasted for much of the flight. Even though the pilots had full control of the situation, about 20 percent of the passengers ended up getting sick on the flight. When the flight landed, those passengers were tended to by emergency services.

Air New Zealand confirmed the incident and that they would be refunding the fare to those that fell ill in a statement.

Vegans BBQ 'Dog' To Prove Point About Eating Meat  (REAL)

Not sure the kids who witnessed this will ever recover but that thought never entered the mind of a group of protestors in Sydney, Australia.

In a protest organized by PETA, a prop dog was disturbingly barbecued leaving its arms, legs, and body looking like charcoal as kids walking by clung to their parents in horror. During their protest, they would approach the public and ask, “If you wouldn’t eat a dog, why eat a lamb?”

The stunt was carried out at Pitt Street Mall in the center of Sydney as millions of locals are preparing a big barbecue to celebrate annual Australia Day festivities this weekend. The protest was aimed at making meat-eaters reconsider what they cook during the annual event on Saturday.  Leg of lamb anyone?

Dirty Underwear Being Used To Protect Cars From Theft  (REAL)

Not sure I would ever go to this length to ensure my car doesn't get stolen but a British man has found a new anti-theft device that seems to work. He simply uses his dirty underwear.

A British author has stumbled onto a new business after he successfully sold his underwear on eBay as a car security system for $12. The ad shows a dirty pair of red briefs wrapped around a steering wheel and pitches it as “THE BEST STEERING LOCK EVER - GUARANTEED TO PUT ANY CAR THIEF OFF NICKING YOUR CAR!”

What may have started as a joke, ended up with cold hard cash in his pocket. The man said that he got the idea when he came home from the gym one day and saw a pile of dirty underwear in the laundry. So he spread some Marmite onto a pair for effect and wrapped them around the wheel of his BMW.

She went to the Facebook marketplace and sold the one thing he loved more than anything. She sold his Xbox One for just four dollars. She also threw in a $60 headset and a few hundred dollars worth of games for good measure. For those who don't know, the console alone sells for around $250.

Georgia did say she was going to use the $4 to buy a new kitchen knife since she used one of hers to slash his tires.

Flight Attendant Forced To Wipe Rear Of Passenger  (REAL)

Nobody ever said that being a flight attendant was a glamorous job. However, I don't think anyone has ever claimed it to be this crappy.

Following a bizarre series of events, a flight attendant revealed that an overweight passenger on a Taiwanese airliner forced the staff on board to remove his pants and wipe his butt. He also forced the women to keep the bathroom open because “he couldn’t breathe.” He was estimated to weigh around 440 lbs and refused to get up unless they wiped his butt for him.

The whole event left the attendants traumatized and now the airline union is asking for the man to be sued. He has previously been in trouble for pooping himself on a previous flight.

Selfie-Taking "Friendly Satan" Statue Is Making People Mad  (REAL)

Seems that Satan just rubs people the wrong way no matter what he does. There's a new statue of a ‘Friendly Satan’ that's taking a selfie in the Spanish city of Segovia. It's a stone's throw away from a famous Roman-era aqueduct. However, the statue has Roman Catholics a bit unhappy. In fact, they started a petition stating the devil looks far too good-natured for public installation.

The Satan statue wears a welcoming smile and holds out a camera phone to take a selfie at the aqueduct. Ancient folklore says that the devil built the aqueduct himself, in one night. The statue is a tribute to the historical sight and story.

The petition to have Satan removed has over 5,600 signatures, however, a rival group has started their own petition and that has just over 2,300 signatures. No word yet on if these groups can come to a compromise.

Man Abducted By Aliens Finally Talks About It 45 Years Later  (REAL)

We've been debating for decades whether or not we are alone in this universe. Are aliens out there and have they ever made contact with us? After 45 years of keeping it a secret from his own family, one man’s declining health has given him a reason to write a book and finally tell his story.

Calvin Parker is now ready to tell the story of the event that took place in 1973, Parker was 19 and simply wanted to build a home and raise a family. Those plans changed after a fishing trip in Pascagoula, Alabama with his buddy Charles Hickson.

“A real bright beam appeared all over us and it kind of blinded us for a second — and when I got my vision back, I seen three bulky looking creatures coming toward us,” Parker said.

Parker said because of this night, he’s spent the last 45 years in hiding, scared to face the curious public eye, but after suffering a stroke and having two open-heart surgeries, he's opening up about his experience. He claims that he and Hickson were levitated into the spacecraft.

He says they were both examined by these aliens and that they were told not to worry, they weren't going to hurt them. Charles Hickson wrote a book on his encounter and spoke numerous times about it. He passed away in 2011. Now Parker has finally opened up about it and once again has people buzzing about the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

Man Buries Engagement Ring Has Fiance Find It  (REAL)

If you're going to propose, you might as well make it as unique an experience as possible. One man from England did just that recently when he decided to bury his engagement ring on the grounds of an old castle in England.

Jamille Swainson hid the sapphire and diamond studded engagement ring in the ground before taking his girlfriend, Harriet Haseler , on an "activities day," which included using metal detectors. It seems Harriet grew up doing such activities with her grandmother. Only this time she came across a metal box shaped like a military drum. When she opened it, there was a hessian sack inside where the ring was being hidden.

Harriet said they had been finding all sorts of things that day with the metal detector and thought she had just found an old box with some old jewelry in it. That is, until she realized he was down on his knee asking her to marry him. She said yes and there in the midst of planning their special day.

Dog Sends RV Straight Into A Lake  (REAL)

A fishing trip out on a Texas lake ended up costing  Eric Jackson more than he would ever have imagined. Seems his Dalmatian found himself in deep trouble after he accidentally sent their RV rolling into a lake.

Jackson was launching his boat into the Sam Rayburn Reservoir last week when his dog Bodi got behind the wheel of the vehicle and accidentally stepped on the gear shift switch. Jackson had seen his RV slowly rolling toward the lake and did his best to stop the vehicle, but it was too late.

The man had to actually dive under the water to attach a tow line to the RV and pull it out. Unfortunately, the damage was done but Bodi's not in trouble. That's because his owner says it was really his fault for leaving the RV on, to begin with.

Cuddle Clones creates handmade plush pet 'clones' designed to look identical to your dog or cat, sewing up cute mini-mes of the furriest members of the family. But in addition to these plush toys, the company also makes wearable slippers, so owners can walk around with their slippers that look just like their favorite pet.

The slippers aren’t exactly cheap either. They start at $199 and they take eight weeks for them to be delivered. But if you want to pay an additional fee to get them in six, four, or even two weeks.

It's Raining Spiders In Brazil  (REAL)

A very scary situation has taken place in Espírito Santo do Dourado, Brazil recently. A local boy had recorded on video what appeared to be a rain shower of spiders. Some locals actually said the sky look like it was “raining with spiders” but even though the spiders look like they are falling, they are actually moving on top of a huge web.

Experts say this is very typical in the region because of how hot and humid the weather is. Spiders will usually share their webs with other spiders during this time. They say it's a tactic spiders use to help catch food, usually insects. Silk threads act as parachutes, so the rain of spiders is also called 'ballooning'."

Experts also say that they are 100% harmless, in case you were wondering.

A man allegedly stole his roommate's winning scratch-off lottery ticket, and when he tried to cash in, he learned it wasn't actually worth $10,000 but rather $10 million.

Adul Saosongyang , 35, was arrested Monday on charges of grand theft after police in California, along with lottery officials, began investigating the case

It seems that the Adul's roommate purchased the scratch-off for $30 in December and thought he had won $10,000. When he got home, he told his roommates then headed to the lottery office in Sacramento the next day. When he got there, officials told the man his ticket was not a winner and that it had been altered. The man suspected a roommate and called the police.

In fact, the very next day Adul allegedly went to the same lottery office to cash in on the ticket he had stolen and found that it wasn't worth the $10,000 he allegedly thought but rather $10 million.

Doctors Warn Blogger About Vampire Facials  (REAL)

Always be careful when taking cosmetic advice from any bloggers. That should go without saying but you never know these days. Take this one blogger who has plastic surgeons worried as she is encouraging people to perform their own “vampire facials” at home.

The procedure was made famous by  Kim Kardashian and is thought to help rejuvenate facial cells. However, it also comes with many risks.

Lauren Shivers , aka RunHoly, has gone ahead and put together a step-by-step guide to a “DIY Vampire Facial,” which is essentially harvesting plasma from your own blood and injecting it back into your skin. She says the procedure needs to be repeated four times at six-week intervals.

The facial involves using your own blood to promote healthy skin cell activity. It entails drawing blood from the arm and harvesting the platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected back into the face. Sounds great right?

Well, doctors are warning people against it and against taking the advice of this blogger. Risks on performing a plasma-rich platelet (PRP) facial at home include sepsis, blindness, nerve injury, infection, and tissue death. Doctors are also warning the public not to copy RunHoly’s instruction or distribute them.

The average cost for a vampire facial is about $1,000.

Authorities Break Up Giant Fight At Retirement Home (FAKE) Plane Delayed Because Of Dead Body On Board  (REAL)

I want you to think about this story next time you see a penny laying on the ground and don't pick it up. Turns out that when copper was needed to win World War II to make bullets bullets and wire, one of the most valuable coins in US history was created in the US Mint in 1943. The Lincoln penny. To preserve the metal, 1943 Lincoln pennies were made of zinc-coated steel, but a tiny fraction of the pennies put into circulation wound up using all copper.

The 1943 Lincoln Penny is made of copper and is considered the "most famous" coin manufactured by mistake. Only 20 were ever made and the US government has denied its existence for years. One coin was found in March 1947 by Don Lutes Jr. in his school cafeteria. Now that penny is set to go up for auction.

Lutes just passed away in September and now the coin he found will go up for auction and nobody is really sure how much it will go for. Estimates have the penny selling for as much as much as $1.7 million dollars.

Outback Or Death. Girl Threatens Parents Over Restaurant  (REAL)

I'm all for a good blooming onion but one Florida woman took it too far. Deanne Seltzer was arrested last week after she allegedly attacked her parents and chased her father with a 12-inch knife for refusing to take her to Outback Steakhouse.

It seems that the 28-year-old woman had asked her parents to take her to the Outback Steakhouse on Wednesday. When they refused, Seltzer flew into a rage and flipped over the glass dining room table before punching her mother with closed fists on her chest and arms. When her father tried to intervene, he sustained scratches to his face and upper body. Seltzer then allegedly picked up a foot-long decorative knife and began to chase her father around the house, threatening, “I’m going to kill you,” before the father was eventually able to wrestle the knife away without sustaining further injury.

Police arrived at the home and charged Seltzer with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, and battery of a person 65 or older. A judge ordered her to undergo a mental health evaluation within days of her release.

Math Couple Forces Wedding Guests To Do, Math  (REAL) Nothing says fun like having to solve an equation before being able to hit the open bar at a wedding. An anonymous bride wrote on Facebook that she and her fiancé (both mathematicians) are planning to ask their guests to answer math equations to find out what table they’ve been seated at for the reception.

A screenshot of the Facebook announcement was posted to Reddit after she revealed guests would have to solve a math question before they could sit down to their meal. The unnamed bride explained that because both she and her fiance were mathematicians they planned to include multiple math references throughout the event. What fun.

Most people thought the idea was kind of exhausting while others thought it was a cute idea. To be fair, the bride did say that since they are both mathematicians, most of their friends have a “research-level mathematical background.” Who knows, maybe the guests will love it.

Contortionist Rushed To Hospital After Getting Stuck In A Pose (FAKE) Saudi Women To Get Text Messages About Divorce  (REAL)

Looks like there won't be a need for those awkward, "I want a divorce" conversations in Saudi Arabia anymore. A text message will now be sent to women in Saudi Arabia who have been divorced by their husband, as of yesterday.

The Saudi Ministry of Justice posted on Twitter that's how they will be "receiving marital status" updates. This is actually a step in the right direction since, in the past, men ended their marriages without telling their wives anything.

The message will include the divorce certificate number and the name of the relevant court where the women can pick up the documentation. In addition, their marital status can be examined through a website. Probate certificates are also available on the site.

While it's really nice to hear that Saudi men are now notifying women of their relationship status, women are still prohibited from doing a few things without a man's permission. They include applying for passports, traveling abroad, getting married, opening a bank account, starting certain businesses, and getting elective surgery.

Bride Loses It Over Wedding Cake Mishap She Created (REAL)

It's supposed to be one of the happiest days in a brides life. Not so much for an unnamed bride who allegedly broke down “in tears” after learning that her wedding guests decided to help themselves to her non-traditional wedding cake before she and groom had a chance to dive in.

According to a post, which was shared in the online forum Mumsnet , the bride and groom decided against the traditional wedding cake and instead went arranged hunks of cheese. This no doubt added to the confusion by the guests.

“Cake in question was a three-tiered cake made of different cheeses. Surrounded by grapes and crackers/biscuits. No little bride and groom on top,” said one guest. Once the bride found out what had happened, she absolutely lost it. While some said it was an honest mistake - others pointed out that the "cake" was in a separate room, out of the reach of the guests.

Guess some people just don't give edam...

Pop Tarts Announce Presidential Run  (REAL)

As we told you before , former Starbucks CEO  Howard Shultz  is considering running for president in 2020 as an independent. Now, another unexpected contender seems to be throwing their hat in the ring: Pop Tarts.

The Twitter account for the toaster pastry has tweeted that it's also considering a presidential run in 2020 and asked for followers to retweet the message if they supported the idea. Turns out, there’s a decent amount of support.

The original tweet has currently received over 31-thousand retweets and 15-thousand likes. Pop-Tarts also may have found a running mate. Hostess Snacks chimed in and offered to be vice president. That's 27,000 times more retweets than Schultz’s tweet. It’s worth noting, however, that Schultz was not asking to be retweeted, unlike Pop-Tarts.
