It turns out Democrat and Republican don’t only butt heads when it comes to political leaders, they have their own takes on celebrities, too. With the help of data from Forbes’ 100 highest-paid entertainers of 2018 list, Morning Consult surveyed more than 6,000 Americans to find out which celebs the two parties are most torn over. Among the most politically polarizing on the list are Beyonce, Sean Hannity, LeBron James.
Beyonce, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, tops the list as the most divisive celebrity between the two parties with a 66% difference in net perception. She and her husband Jay-Z, who’s also on the list, are generally favored by Democrats and have a more negative perception by Republicans. On the flip side, Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are the next most divisive celebrities, with their public opinion among Republicans being generally positive.
Ellen DeGeneres is the fourth most divisive celebrity, liked by Republicans but beloved by Democrats.
