A California DMV employee slept thousands of hours on the job over the past four years, according to a report by a state auditor.
The report found that the woman slept at least three hours a day at her desk despite complaints from her colleagues. The auditor determined that more than 2000 hours of work time were wasted, costing the state about $40,000.
Her supervisor claimed to have tried to address her conduct and take disciplinary action but was unable to. The supervisor also admitted to letting the problem continue because it was believed the employee may have a medical condition causing her to fall asleep.
It's not clear what disciplinary action, if any, will be taken. (USA Today)
