The New Hampshire Lottery Commission is dropping the controversial slogan, "Luck Yeah!" The move comes after Executive Councilor Russell Prescott, a Republican from Kingston, called the tagline offensive since it rhymes with a profane phrase.
Instead, the commission will now use the slogan "Win-Time" in upcoming ad spots. Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, defended the original slogan saying, "I would suggest to you that the four-letter word luck is an inherent part of our business. So I apologize if it is insensitive, but certainly it's effective."
McIntyre went on to note the dramatic rise of NH Lottery revenue since he took the job in 2010.“When I arrived here we were in a negative 6 percent decline, year-on-year for the prior five years," he explains. "And since that time we’ve grown more than the rest of New England combined."
