When people look for a place to live, they may research school districts, or look for places near shops and restaurants, but if happiness is the ultimate thing they seek, they may want to start checking out Fremont, California.
Research by WalletHub looked at about 180 of the largest cities in the U.S., judging them on 28 key indicators of happiness and named Fremont as the happiest place to live in the U.S. for a second year in a row. As for why Fremont landed at number one, the San Francisco suburb got high marks for its community and environment, as well as emotional and physical well-being.

And if the research named a happiest city, there has to be a city that falls at the bottom of the list, and that was Detroit, Michigan, which specifically ranks at the bottom of the barrel for emotional and physical well-being, as well as income and unemployment.
