As we told you yesterday, Kevin Smith had suffered a massive heart attack. As fans adjusted to the news, Chris Pratt took to Twitter to send up prayers for the director ā much to the chagrin of some trolls.
Chris tweeted, āKevin, we donāt know each other too good, but I have loved you since āClerksā and Iām praying my [tail] off for you [be]cause I believe in the healing power of prayer.ā
Some Twitter users were not impressed. They attacked Chris for his āthoughts and prayersā with the same argument people have been using in the wake of the recent mass shootings. Theyāve said that thoughts and prayers arenāt enough. Some used science and medicine to discount prayer.
- Chris didnāt respond to the backlash. Instead, his āGuardians of the Galaxyā director, James Gunn, stepped in to show his support. He said, āThere is nothing wrong with sending someone positive thoughts & prayers. But when this is coupled with inaction when action will benefit the situation, itās empty.ā Check out the tweets below...
