Eau Claire Native Paul Menard To Retire From NASCAR

The announcement came down just today (Tuesday) that driver and Eau Claire native, Paul Menard will step down as the driver of the Wood Brothers Racing team #21. I happened to find this article on Yahoo.com

The retirement will take effect after the current 2019 season ends. After 13 seasons, 471 NASCAR stars and a big win at the Brickyard 400 in 2011, Paul, 39, stated that he wants to spend more time with his family and move on to the next chapter of his life. No word on if Menards will return as a sponsor next year.

What we do know is that driver Matt DiBenedetto will take the seat of the #21.
