Eau Claire Cold Case Files #1: Angelina Walls

As much as I enjoy TV shows such as Dateline NBC, 20/20, etc, it is still tremendously sad what happens to the friends and families involved. Sadly, Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls is not immune to these sorts of crimes.

When a tragedy hits this area, you remember where you were when you heard about it. It was no different when on January 6, 2001 the body of 22 year-old Angelina Walls was found on the side of County Road J close to Fall Creek. She had been strangled. At the time, authorities assumed this would be a fairly easy crime to solve, but that did not happen and to this day has still not happened.

Police believe that Angelina was walking home from work that evening. Investigators are under the assumption that something happened to her between her workplace at McDonald’s on Hastings and her home on Birch. Other than that, not too much else is known.

There seemed to be a huge break in the case in 2015 when Sheriff Ron Cramer (received a Priority-Mail box that contained documents pertaining to certain individuals and their criminal and financial information, but that never really seemed to go much farther.

For the friends and family of Angelina, we shouldn't forget about her and this cold case. Somebody knows something. Somewhere.

If anyone has any information PLEASE call the Eau Claire County Sheriif’s Office at (715) 839-4709.
