Badgers Win Brew City Battle With 60-50 Victory Over Stanford

In the first basketball game ever played at American Family Field, the Wisconsin Badgers were the victors, taking it to Stanford and earning a 60-50 victory over the Cardinal.

A sea of red covered the stands at American Family Field, which is typically a frustrating sight that means St. Louis Cardinals fans are in town, but it was much more comforting at the Brew City Battle and it helped the Badgers jump out to a lead early and never surrender it.

The 3 point defense for Wisconsin was excellent once again as they held Stanford to just 1-for-16 on the night from beyond the arc. Although the Badgers had a big of a rough night shooting as well, going just 5-for-20 from 3.

Tyler Wahl led the way in scoring for Wisconsin with 17 points and five rebounds. Jordan Davis had a career high 13 points while Chucky Hepburn added 11. Steven Crowl finished one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Connor Essegian had 8 points and got extended minutes in this game as Max Klesmit got into foul trouble early on.

Wisconsin jumped out to a 12 point lead at the half and was in control for most of the game. The Badgers are now 2-0 on the young season and their next game is Tuesday against UW-Green Bay.

This was the first college basketball game played at a baseball stadium since 2015 at Petco Park.
