Keith Urban Sweeps American Music Awards

Keith Urban may be Australian, but he owned the American Music Awards.

The country superstar snagged three trophies—Favorite Male Artist – Country, Favorite Album - Country and Favorite Song – Country—Sunday night (Nov. 19) at the annual fan-voted event in Los Angeles.

With some help from wife Nicole Kidman, Keith accepted the awards and thanked his fans and family for their support.

“To the fans, you are the best in the world. I love you guys more than you know. Baby girl, I share these with you tonight and our girls, Munchkin and Fifi, watching at home. I love you girls so much. Thank you for all the love in our home and in my heart,” he said before thanking country radio and specific members of his team. “I want to thank everybody that worked on the records and everyone that went out and supported Ripcord. The fans, I love you. Without you, it is one long soundcheck.”

Before the show, Keith and Nicole spoke about their intention to “thread” both family and work together as one.

“We’re together most of the time as a family especially [during the holidays],” Keith told E! on the AMA red carpet. “We kind of thread it all together. It’s not like blocks of time. It’s all threaded together.”

Other country stars to take AMA wins in 2017 are Carrie Underwood (Favorite Female Artist – Country) and Little Big Town (Favorite Duo or Group – Country).
