TMSG: Deaf Groom Gets Cochlear Implant Before Wedding

David Alianiello has spent all 34 years of his life with severe hearing loss. He made a life-changing decision to get a cochlear implant, but it really didn't have much to do with his hearing loss as much as it had to do with some big upcoming life events.

Alianiello wanted to get the cochlear implant before his recent wedding so that he had a chance to hear all the sounds of his nuptials and his loved ones that were celebrating the marriage. He was born with congenital hearing loss and the implant restored his hearing so that when his bride Courtney said "I do," he could hear it all. Along with hearing his family and friends, for the first time. Alianiello told People Magazine, “I couldn’t have asked for a better day,” David says. “It was the first time I had ever heard clapping. The music was very nice when I danced with my wife - I could hear the higher beats!”

In even brighter news, the newlyweds are expecting a new baby and now he can look forward to hearing the newborn's cries and the first words when their baby speaks.
