Carly Pearce continued a longstanding tradition at the legendary Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday evening (October 10), flipping a giant light switch to turn the venue’s signature barn-style backdrop pink for the night, in honor of breast cancer awareness. This year’s show, the 15th anniversary of Opry Goes Pink, featured Pearce and other artists calling awareness to the fight against breast cancer.
Other artists to join Opry member Pearce during the Opry Goes Pink show, which joins together with breast cancer foundation Susan G. Komen, include The Isaacs, Gary Mule Deer, Riders In The Sky, Priscilla Block and more, the Opry previously announced.
Pearce becomes the latest artist to flip the iconic switch during the annual Opry Goes Pink event. The Grand Ole Opry shared a reel on Instagram on Wednesday (October 11) to reflect on “the special moments when we turn the Opry stage pink marking 15 years in fighting against breast cancer with Opry star [Carly Pearce] flipping the switch last night!” Other artists to flip the switch over the years included The Judds — the beloved mother-daughter duo of Naomi Judd and Wynonna Judd — Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes, Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina and others.
