Fifth grader Orion Jean of Tarrant County, Texas, is known by his classmates and teachers as a very driven student. Earlier this fall, Orion collected and donated hundreds of toys ro kids in the hospital in Dallas through his “Race to 500 Toys” drive. And now, he’s back in action with another mission. This time, he wants to donate 100,000 meals to people in need by Thanksgiving. His “Race to 100,000 Meals” food drive is going strong. Orion is accepting food donations from the public, including bottles of water, fruit and other items that can fit in brown paper lunch bags. He is also asking people to write positive messages on those bags, to share extra kindness as we head into the holiday season. Even though he started his food drive just a week ago, he has already received nearly 4,000 meals, which means he’s well on his way to achieving yet another goal. (KTVT-TV)
