When the pandemic started, Taylor Pikkarainen took on an assignment as a traveling nurse. She spent a couple months during the spring in New Jersey, working on the front lines. She then returned to her home state of Minnesota to save the life of an 18-month-old boy named Body Hall -- by donating her kidney. Taylor learned about Bodie through her sister-in-law and signed up to help immediately. On July 9th, which happened to be Taylor’s 27th birthday, the surgeries were performed and Bodie received his life-saving kidney. Taylor was discharged quickly from the hospital -- and Bodie is recovering well. Doctors expect the quality of his life to improve soon and his family reports that Bodie is already feels better than he has in months. (WABC-TV)
