Feel Good Story Wednesday 10-7-20, 7-Year Old Starts A Foodbank!

Seven-year-old Cavanaugh Bell has started his school year -- but also had a busy summer, collecting and delivering a trailer full of supplies to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, which is considered one of the poorest places in America. Cavanaugh started his own nonprofit group -- called Cool and Dope -- to combat bullying and spread positivity, and then used that group to help those in need far away from his home in Maryland. With the help of volunteers, Cavanaugh loaded supplies into a 53-foot truck and -- with the help of his mom -- delivered them to the reservation before winter weather makes things rough. Thanks to Cavanaugh’s leadership and generosity, the people of the Pine Ridge Reservation received hygiene products, food, cleaning products, diapers, coats, clothes, shoes and blankets -- among many other items. And Cavanaugh admits he is rewarded by all this as well, explaining that he’s “just trying to make them have a big fat smile on their faces.” (Washington Post)
