Feel Good Story For Thursday 10-1-20. 8-Year Old Gets "Special" Arm

When 8-year-old Sam Halpern was 6, a bacterial infection changed his life forever. He was on life support -- and ended up having his arm and his legs amputated, just to save his life. Well, his life changed again -- thanks to the Springfield Shriners Hospital in Massachusetts. The staff there created a bionic arm -- known as the “Hero Arm” -- with a 3D printer. This gift allows Sam to have a functioning hand, allowing him to once again hold a baseball bat and pick up small objects. And, adding to the wow-factor, the arm was given a paint job inspired by the superhero Ironman. (KGO-TV)
