It's common for children to follow in the footsteps of their parents, pursuing a job similar to the one their mother or father holds, so it should be no surprise that one of Steven Spielberg's seven kids plans to dip their feet into the movie industry. However, 23-year-old Mikaela Spielberg is doing it by becoming an adult film star.
Mikaela, who the famed director and his wife, Kate Capshaw, adopted as a baby, told England's The Sun that she has already self-produced videos featuring only herself and hopes to also get a job dancing in a strip club. She described herself as a "sexual creature" and explained, "I got really tired of not being able to capitalize on my body and frankly, I got really tired of being told to hate my body. And I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn't satisfying to my soul."
As for how her famous parents reacted to the news, she revealed her aspirations to them on FaceTime and said they were "intrigued" and "not upset."
Mikaela, who lives in Nashville, hopes this career path will make her financially independent from her family. She stated:
"I've always been a very sexually natured person, which has gotten me in trouble before. Not in a predatory way, but just in the sense that people here in the South might not yet be comfortable with that. My main hope is just that I get somewhere lucrative enough to where I'm not tied down financially by things. And then I can really start saying to people there's nothing wrong with me using my body in a way that feels comfortable to support myself. I can't stay dependent on my parents or even the state for that matter - not that there's anything wrong with that - it just doesn't feel comfortable for me This isn't like an 'end of the road' or 'I've hit bottom' choice. This is a positive, empowering choice, I realized there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual."
Mikaela plans to work under the stage name Sugar Star. She had posted some of her videos online but temporarily removed them until she can get her license as a sex worker in Tennessee, saying she wants to make sure everything she does is "legitimate and above board."
