That saying “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” definitely paid off for a North Carolina man recently. Benjamin Sinclair has been playing his “special numbers” in the lottery for the last 27 years and he finally won with them.

Sinclair says he only plays when the jackpot gets above a certain amount and admits he knew it was a long shot, but he kept playing those same numbers. And he was shocked to see five of his numbers come up as a match in the October 27th drawing, but he finally hit it big, winning a $1-million prize.

"I had to look at the numbers several times to make sure," Sinclair says. "It feels great to win."
