The unnamed Mega Millions winner isn’t the only person whose bank account is about to swell. The owner of the San Jose, California store that sold the ticket is also a million dollars richer.
Kewal Sachdev, who owns Ernie's Liquors, is thanking the California lottery and said he always hoped his store would sell a winning ticket. Officials say the public's interest in the jackpot and an increase in sales helped boost the jackpot from 522-million dollars all the way up to 543-million dollars.
No one has come forward to claim the prize yet, but they’ll have the option to take a 320-point-five-million-dollar lump sum payment.
